My wife picked the color, Laser Red Clearcoat Metallic. It has been upgraded
to E Street Prepared specs. I bought the K & N filter from from Bob Franzke at
Performance International. Send him an
E-Mail for an awesome price on a K & N for your car.
Suspension mods so far:
- C & M CalPak Racing module for the EEC - programmed by ME!
- Ford 80MM MAF (same as '95 Cobra 'R') - My company -
Najay Engineering offers custom EEC reprogramming.
- Griggs competition springs (700f/350r)
polyurethane bushings in some suspension mounting points
- Koni "Yellow" sports all four corners (contact
Jim Dingell at PPI or go to his
Web page
for awesome prices on Konis and Mustang / Mustang Cobra related parts and
all around great service).
- Cobra 'R' rear - 3.27 rear gears on a tight-packed Traction-Lok
- Cobra 'R' disk brakes (13" f/11.6" r, no heat shields!!, no abs).
This setup is awesome!
- Cobra (GT40) engine (heads, cam, intake, 65mm TB, 73mm MAF, 24# injectors)
- Cobra front and rear bumper covers (I know, not really suspension, but still cool!)
- Recaro seats
- Battery relocated to trunk
- MAC 1 5/8" long tube headers with cats
- Edelbrock RPM 2 1/2" mufflers to turn downs. These mufflers blow away
any other units I have tried for both flow and sound.

Before and
after pictures of the engine compartment.

Planned mods
- Griggs Torque Arm and panhard rod.
- Polyurethanes in the front lower control arms
- 17x9 or 17x9.5 rims with 275/40R17 tires (R1's, Yoks or Kumhos)
I plan on competing in SCCA Solo II E Street Prepared, and eventually moving
into open track events. This car did pretty good with a stock engine at the strip,
14.67 @ 93 mph.
The current setup has run a 14.07 @ 101 mph. Not bad for a stock-spec autox car
(Cobra spec, that is). With better traction, I expect high 13s.
A GTechPro unit showed Phoenix generating 1.09g of lateral acceleration!
